At 16 years old, Isaac dreams of becoming a doctor. Living in the Kiryandongo refugee settlement in Uganda, his dream has been shaped by hardship few children should ever experience.
Violence forced Isaac’s family to flee South Sudan, and after losing his mother, he was left in the care of relatives. Food is often scarce, and there are times when his family goes days without eating. “There are times when I feel like dying,” Isaac says. “A human being cannot stay without eating and stay alive.”
Thanks to support through Feed The Hungry, Isaac receives a hot daily meal at school — giving him the strength to learn, focus, and continue working toward his future. School also gives him moments of joy through mathematics, football, and time with friends.
“I’m so happy you are giving me food,” Isaac says. “Thank you so much. May God bless you.”
Working alongside local churches, Feed The Hungry not only provide physical nourishment but also hope and encouragement for hungry and vulnerable children. Isaac’s story reflects the reality of thousands of children across Uganda. Yet through faithful supporters, children like Isaac are receiving more than food — they are receiving hope for the future.
