We have a tradition of sending Christmas cards to children in Sri Lanka. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our donors in the past, we have decided to also send cards to Malawi this year!

Your school is invited to participate in this annual project. Below are colouring-in Christmas cards that you are welcome to download and print for students to personalise and write a Christmas greeting to a child from our feeding programme in Sri Lanka or Malawi.

Additional Materials

Take Away Hunger Day

Take Away Hunger Day is a fundraiser event run by Feed The Hungry to reduce global hunger by providing thousands of children with daily school lunches.

Feed The Hungry is responsible for delivering meal packages to schools around the world, working to feed and nurture starving children in body, mind, and spirit. Take Away Hunger Day is focused on providing aid to refugee children in Uganda who were driven out of South Sudan by war and conflict; check out where else we serve.

For every $1, one hungry child will not have to worry about their next meal for a whole school week.

All they need to think about is coming to school. They attend their classes and the prospect of a guaranteed warm lunch is incentive enough to stay, giving them the opportunity to develop their education and allow them to hope for a brighter future.

Simultaneously, the meals are filled with important nutrients and vitamins to encourage growth and helps them focus in class, helping them to learn. They also have the chance to hear the Gospel message and know peace, to live a full life in body, mind, and spirit!

Get involved!

There are many ways your school can be involved in Take Away Hunger Day, from hosting your own fundraising event to encouraging your local community to join us on Thursday 21 August 2025 with resources we have available for you. Get in contact with us to discuss what will work best for you!

Your impact

Just as our founder Dr Lester Sumrall was called upon to feed the bodies, souls, and spirits of the hungry around the world, so are we. Your donations, no matter how big or small, has the ability to make a huge difference for a hungry child in Uganda! You are ensuring that good nutritious food is being delivered directly to schools in Uganda, encouraging these children to not only satisfy their hungry belly but also their hungry minds and spirits.

By supplying daily lunches at their local school, children are encouraged to attend the full school day as they can focus entirely on their classwork without worrying about what they are going to eat. Being surrounded in community boosts provided emotional support and lunch is an opportunity to hear the gospel.

Thank you for helping to give a child to live a fuller life, the chance to be fulfilled in body, soul and spirit — because a full life feels good!

Why your support matters!

Food supplies are ready. We just need to pay for delivery.

With your help, we can make sure nutritious meal packages are delivered to the hungry refugee children in Uganda. Children like Isaac and his siblings who escaped the war in South Sudan and have made a new life in Uganda as orphans. His faith sustains his spirit and his lunchtime meals at school keep his body and mind healthy!

It is thanks to our partners in the field and our supporters (you!) that these children have the chance to live a brighter, fuller life.

$1 is enough to provide five lunches to one child, enough for one school week. Can your school Take Away Hunger this year? Get in touch with us today!

Testimonies

Thanks to our partnership with Christian radio and media in previous years, we know that Aussie kids are getting involved!

“Hi I’m Daniel and I asked mum if I can donate my pocket money to support 2 children. I’m 10 years old. My family donated as well but this is just from me because I wanted to do more to help.”

“My 4yr old daughter and I discussed how we can help feed the children in Uganda. Whilst we would love to feed them all, I know every donation makes a difference. Jesus told us to feed the hungry, this is a great opportunity to be disciples of Christ.”
