Together we fed 169,613 children!
We were able to exceed our goal and feed an extra 48,018 children for a month this Take Away Hunger Day, thanks to our amazing partners and donors.
On 22 August 2024, 41 radio stations and media platforms around Australia came together with a common cause… to feed 120,000 hungry refugee children in Uganda.
Feed The Hungry school-based feeding-programs ensure children receive a nutritious meal every day, encouraging kids to stay in school and learn, so they can break the cycle of poverty.
Our team visited Uganda earlier in the year, meeting with Ps Solomon, and visiting some of the schools with our food program. They spoke with many kids, teachers and parents about the life-changing impact of the school-based program.
On Take Away Hunger Day, we were able to bring these transforming stories to listeners via radio and online. Our Aussie listeners responded with generosity and committed to making a powerful difference in the lives of these children.
