In our March letter we asked for your help for the people of Nicaragua. This is the life-giving impact of your generosity… like manna from heaven to those unable to feed their family.
Kendra and her team minister to those who spend their days scavenging the garbage dumps. They are desperately searching for scraps they can sell, for just a small amount of food. Sadly, many of these scavengers are children.
Kendra Doutt is our Feed The Hungry Director for Nicaragua. We recently received this beautiful story from Kendra…
“As we entered the garbage dump late in the afternoon, all the garbage pickers were sitting around instead of working. They told us that after waiting the entire day, only one truck had come. What would they eat?
“We gathered to share God’s Word and pray for them. After our time of ministry, we distributed
Manna Packs to each family. We reminded them that this was God’s provision and blessing for them, from Him, encouraging them that they are not forgotten.
“As I looked around, making sure everyone had received food, my eyes were drawn to a young father. He was kneeling down with his hands and his head resting on the box of food he had just received. I watched him, pondering what was going through his mind. Was he tired, overwhelmed, burdened, relieved?
“When the young father lifted his head, I asked him if he was tired. He said, ‘No, I am grateful. Even though the trucks didn’t come today, you did, and my family will eat.’ He surely had been kneeling to thank God.”
Thank you for making the delivery of food to such desperate places possible, and for reaching more souls for Christ.
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
