Life in Sri Lanka may be difficult and uncertain, but Feed The Hungry have had the opportunity to make sure there is food and Christmas joy for hungry children through your many cards and messages.
In 2024 we continued our tradition of sending Christmas cards to the children at Child Action Lanka centres, to share warmth and joy over this season of hope. These nine centres across Sri Lanka, with 140 staff and volunteers, feed and educate 2,000 children each day.
For some children it is the only meal they will get that day. Yet not only a feeding program, these centres bring hope and a helping hand to families and local communities.
“It’s more than a meal. We are creating a home,” says Debs Edirisinghe, Founder and Director of CAL. “A place where the children can enjoy the happy feeling of being loved and full.”
