War and food shortages have pushed innocent children to the brink of starvation in South Sudan. As tribal violence breaks out, they are suddenly running for safety and struggling to survive.
Thousands of men, women and children from South Sudan have been displaced into their neighbouring country, Uganda. Uganda is currently hosting more than 1.688 million South Sudanese refugees and asylum-seekers. The vast majority are women and children under 18.
Providing a nutritious meal at school every day means they don’t have to worry about their next meal anymore. They also hear about the God who loves them, and find hope for the future.
With your help, our goal is to feed 120,000 children for a month through our school-based feeding program. With food in their bellies, children can laugh, dream and play. They get to be kids again.
Now in its second year, Take Away Hunger Day has contributed to feeding almost 300,000 hungry children in Uganda. They’ve fled tragedy and violence in South Sudan and they’re often alone, hungry and struggling to survive. Yet $6 makes the difference between life and death for these children, giving them food for a month. Even more than a meal… it’s providing a future.
