Hungry Children Can’t Wait…
When Sarah fled the civil war in South Sudan, she found safety in a Ugandan refugee settlement. It was a place of hope after unthinkable violence.
But that hope was shaken again when her father suffered a devastating accident. He was left physically disabled and unable to see clearly. Sarah was just a child, but she already knew what it meant to feel uncertain about the future.
What she needed wasn’t just food. She needed a reason to believe in what comes next.
“Without the food, children could not survive,” Sarah says. “Children can’t perform well in class if they’re hungry.”
Hunger takes more than nutrition. It steals focus, energy and the ability to learn. For children like Sarah, a daily school meal isn’t just about staying alive. It’s about having the strength to dream.
Across Africa, 23 million primary-school-aged children are hungry. Refugee children are especially vulnerable. But there is something you can do right now to help.
A gift of $60 provides hot, nourishing meals for 10 refugee children in school for an entire month. These meals are designed by nutritionists and include fortified vegetables, vitamins, minerals, soy and rice. Everything a growing child needs to concentrate, learn and build a future.
Sarah explains it simply: “If I’m feeling hungry, I feel bad. I don’t concentrate.”
The deadline is 30 June. Every day between now and then is a chance to make sure more children like Sarah get the meals they need to learn and grow.
You can provide more than a meal. You can help provide a future.
