The war in Ukraine is now in its fifth year — and much of the world has moved on. But faithful Christian partners haven’t.

Since the fighting began, more than 5 million kilograms of food have been delivered to hungry Ukrainians, thanks to friends like you.

Reaching them isn’t simple. Teams make 12-hour round-trip drives into dangerous, isolated areas near the front lines, then carry heavy boxes of food up eight or nine flights of stairs to reach elderly shutins, the disabled, widows, and children who can’t leave home. They even track incoming missiles by phone app just to stay one step ahead and keep moving toward those who need them most.

But they don’t just deliver supplies and go. They stay — to listen, to pray, and to share the hope of the Gospel with men, women, and children exhausted by years of violence and loss. One recipient said, “Your help is the only thing that keeps me alive and gives me hope. I have nothing else; I thank God for you.”

Ukrainian churches are fasting meals to redirect food to neighbours in even greater need. And amid the suffering, something remarkable is happening — churches once quiet are now filling with people who’ve never sought God before, finding hope in the middle of heartbreak.

Saving little Elisabeth

When missiles began falling on Ukraine, Elisabeth was only four — too young to understand the war, only that her world had turned to chaos.

Not long before, she’d been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She needed insulin to survive. But once the fighting started, it seemed impossible to find. Her family had nowhere to turn — until Feed the Hungry teams stepped in to help in the name of Jesus.

Thanks to donations from supporters like you, our partners on the ground located insulin and delivered it to Elisabeth, likely saving her life. She is one of many who’ve found help and hope, because of you.

Waiting in the Dark

Ukraine’s fields lie bare and pantries are sparse. Behind boarded windows and in basements, families are enduring the winter with the little food that remains. Oksana, a grandmother, is one of them.

For two weeks, she lived underground because the fighting was too close to risk stepping outside. Her meals were whatever she could find — mostly raw potatoes, eaten cold, in the dark. She didn’t know when it would end, or if help would ever find her.

Then our Feed The Hungry team arrived at her door, carrying food made possible by your giving. When Oksana saw what was in their hands, she wept. It wasn’t just food. It was proof that someone, somewhere, hadn’t forgotten her.

Oksana is not alone. She is one of countless grandmothers, mothers, and children across Ukraine facing the darkest of times — and one of many lives touched by your compassion.
