When we asked for help for the children of Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in Africa, you responded with great love and generosity.
God is doing amazing things there, especially in a school for blind children founded by Pastor Nare Lucien. Blind himself, Pastor Nare is a convert to Christianity in this mostly Muslim nation. He relies on your gifts to Feed The Hungry to nourish the children in his school every day.
Joseph Koomson, pictured below with his wife Christiana, oversees the distribution of food in Burkina Faso where more than 8,500 children are fed every day, including those at Pastor Nare’s school.
Joseph and Christiana are originally from Ghana. Christiana was once in line to be queen of her Ghanian tribe but gave up her title to marry Joseph and join him as a missionary to Burkina Faso. What a wonderful example of following God’s call!
Joseph has served with Feed The Hungry since 1994. In these 25 years, he has seen countless children grow healthier and learn faster in school because of the nutritious meals you provide.
Much of the food is distributed locally through Christian churches that invite children to come on weekends for a meal and to study the Bible. Many children come each week. Sometimes their parents follow them, accept Christ and join the church.
To meet the growing demand, Joseph also founded a school in Burkina Faso to train pastors. So far, his school has trained more than 2,400 students.
Your partnership with Feed The Hungry unites you with Christians around the world like Joseph, Christiana and Pastor Nare.
You equip and encourage them in their work, and together we honor the Lord. Thank you.
