Watching the news and staying informed is very important in my role as Director of Feed The Hungry. It has been my observation that leaders across the world are trying their best to get the right balance of caution and confidence to their citizens.
Please perform your civic duty by practising enhanced hygiene routines and staying home as much as possible. If you do need to leave the home for an essential purpose, keep separate from other people by a good physical distance. These are simple and achievable behaviours that will greatly mitigate the spread, and therefore flatten the rate of infection.
The COVID-19 outbreak has forced drastic changes to our work-life-balance. If you are struggling – mentally, emotionally or financially – and feel you need to reduce the amount you give regularly, or even stop it completely for a season – please do not hesitate to contact us and let us know.
Our friendly and understanding staff can quickly update our records and pray with you.
We still believe in miracles.
My children’s school principal, recently encouraged the parents about the state of the at-home-learning program, saying the school will, “…consolidate quickly, and then we will innovate…”
I really like that approach, and I’ve taken that as a personal challenge and encouragement, because I believe that this too will pass.
On behalf of myself and the staff, I want to say that we are adapting well to the ever-changing world. Weekly, daily, even hourly updates require us to be flexible. We have been working remotely, washing hands and confessing Psalm 91 over ourselves every day.
Faith and wisdom are not enemies!
Please do not worry about us, we are all okay. If you can, please continue your prayers for the hungry children, the ones who don’t know where their next meal is coming from… for this is the reason we serve.
