You’re feeding them in ‘body, soul, and spirit’ Over 25,000 hungry refugee children are currently receiving food in Uganda thanks to your support! And yet, with more refugees arriving in Uganda from South Sudan each day, there is still much work to be done to feed the hungry across the country. That’s why our 2014 summer campaign will focus on providing for the physical, educational, and spiritual needs of those who desperately need our help in Uganda and beyond.

More than 93,000 refugees from South Sudan have flooded into northern Uganda in the past six months. Many of them have made their way to our feeding site in Kiryandongo, which is overseen by Pastor Solomon Mwesige from our partner organization, Good News Ministries. Pastor Solomon says the challenges of the program are daunting, but through the help of supporters like you, he believes great saving work can be done.

He says, “I’m so excited about this work and believe we’ll see a great harvest for the Kingdom. We as a ministry will do our part as we meet the needs of these people body, soul, and spirit.”

Pastor Solomon and his team distribute food at seven local schools to ensure children in need are receiving enough each day. And yet, as school numbers swell, even more resources are needed to ensure no child goes hungry. Pastor Solomon explains, “We are struggling because of the daily increase of children that are coming in, and a lack of food to give these kids. The number grows every day, and it is expected to grow even more when schools open for the second term.”

Because of these significant challenges, Pastor Solomon asks for your prayers and support as his team works to ensure that no child misses out on being fed. He says, “It is a joy to continue seeing many lives being touched. Thanks for putting tools in my hands to help my people. Please keep us in your prayers, and thanks for equipping us to do this work.”

Please pray that many respond during our summer campaign so we can supply the needs of refugees in Kiryandongo. And thank you so much for generously supporting the work of feeding the hungry in Uganda so each life can know how good a full life feels!
