NSW Drought Relief - Bathurst and Tamworth

The farming community in regional New South Wales is struggling under the massive challenge of a drought, considered by many to be one of the worst in history. On the 8th August 2018 the entire state of NSW was declared to be in drought. Over 20% of the state under intense drought conditions. Many farmers have sold off all but their core breeding stock, however with a lack of food many of the remaining animals are now at risk of dying. The stress of the situation has increased reported mental health issues up by over 70%.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicted as much as 40mm rain on the weekend of 24th and 25th. However with only 1.4mm failing this month, it is likely to remain the driest August since 1995. Traditionally September is even drier.
