Magdeline with Stefan Radelich

On a recent trip to Uganda, the FTH team met Magdeline and some of her 7 children in a refugee camp. She lives in a home she built with her own hands from the basic supplies given to her by the Ugandan government. Travelling for weeks by foot, during day and night, through the bush and swamps, her terrifying journey is far too common for the refugees of South Sudan.

Magdeline has been at the Kiryandongo Refugee Camp for about a year. And she feels comfortable and safe here. The memory of her house and her possessions burning in front of her as she fled in panic, is something she cannot forget.

In the weekly facebook live videos, FTH Director Ben Evans mentioned the story of Magedeline, the journey from an ordinary middle class life in South Sudan to a refugee sheltering in Uganda.

This is a raw and unedited account in her own words was recorded with International CEO Stefan Radelich and Ben Evans on a recent trip to Uganda.
