Stanley and Vicky Lonathan

Stanley and Vicky Lonathan were introduced to Feed the Hungry through churches that had been supporting them.

Stanley fled at a young age during the Sudan civil war and made his way to Egypt where he was led to Christ by an American missionary. While living in Egypt he completed Bible School and Seminary and vowed to return to his homeland, which he did while the civil war between Sudan and what is now South Sudan was still in effect.

Stanley led his countrymen to faith in Christ, planted numerous churches, started several primary schools, and envisioned and built the Dreamland complex that housed, loved and cared for 150 or so children.

The partnership with Feed the Hungry has provided food, shoes, equipment and bibles for the school and orphanage kids through Every Child Every Day. Many construction projects, water wells and farms were able to be started as well.

In 2016, Stanley and Vicky led the exodus of Dreamland children and staff from Yei, South Sudan in steel dump trucks when the fighting got bad, relocating them to the safety of Rhino Resettlement Camp outside of Arua, Uganda.

The Lonathans and their ministry team were forced out of the country due to the political unrest and are currently in Uganda as refugees. They plan to return in 2022 and continue what they have been doing; bringing the nation of South Sudan to Christ.

In August 2021 Stanley passed, leaving Vicky, their children, church family, and ministry unsure of the plan to return. As they continue forward and figure out the next steps, they trust God to work it all out for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
