Experts predict that the COVID-19 pandemic will double the number of people at risk of starvation around the world in developing countries. Where a lock-down is a sensible, albeit inconvenient defence against the spread of the virus, in low and middle income countries a lockdown is akin to a death sentence. Without the opportunity to work, they cannot provide for their families.
The UN predicts that we are racing towards 1 billion people in the world without enough food to live a healthy life. Among that group, 270 million people around the world will face the acute kind of hunger that leads to starvation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s related impacts.
The issue of hunger is simple to resolve, we just need to get food to those who need it most. We actually have plenty to spare, and we should share.
You can Help!
