India Needs Oxygen Now - Feed The Hungry

India is battling a devastating second wave of Coronavirus. Case numbers and deaths are rising fast due to a new variant. Ambulances are being turned away from hospitals because of supply shortages.

A steady supply of Oxygen is vital to supporting patients fighting this illness. In many cases, an oxygen tank can be the difference between living and dying.

Heartbreakingly, India is facing an acute oxygen shortage. According to PATH Oxygen Needs Tracker, the country now has the greatest demand for oxygen out of all other low, lower-middle and upper-middle-income countries.

As India battles this devastating second wave of Coronavirus hospitals are appealing for help to buy life-saving oxygen generating equipment. We are working with Kachhwa Christian Hospital, near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to support them in getting this vital kit. Any contribution you can make will get this hospital one step closer to buying this life-saving equipment.

Feed The Hungry have already procured 23 ventilators to send out to hospitals in Delhi, India and also in Nepal. Please stand with us as we seek to support those struggling in South Asia at this time.

How much of my donation goes towards providing meals?

As of Dec 2023, 84% of our income is spent on providing meals and 16% is spent on administration costs.

If you send us a donation in response to a specific appeal, all of it will be allocated to providing aid.

If you send us a general donation, we will use it where it’s needed most between our Full Life feeding program, disaster relief, or administration.

We have a network of church and organisation partners across the globe who help us feed the hungry.

We work with partners who have prepared food supplies rich in nutrients that are packed and ready to go. They just need to be delivered where it’s needed most.
