Most people in Malawi are farmers, but they’ve been hit hard by extreme drought over the past two years. And when by chance a little rain comes, the ground is so hard from the drought that it can’t absorb the rain, leading to flash floods.

Today there is an acute food shortage in Malawi that’s led to around 47 percent of children under 5 suffering from malnutrition, which can impair their brain and motor development. Around 4 percent of kids under 5 suffer from “wasting”—being so low in weight that it can lead to mortality. To make matters worse, many children in Malawi are HIV orphans.

Right now, we’re feeding 3,000 children through our Every Child, Every Day feeding program in Malawi, and we are trusting the Lord to add thousands more throughout this year.

  • For Malawian children in our Every Child, Every Day feeding program to find that Jesus is the way to knowing a full life
  • For the HIV orphans in this program to know their heavenly Father cares for them
  • As we show God’s love to adults in Malawi, where 1 in 10 suffer from HIV/AIDS
