Lexi's Love & Lemonade - Feed The Hungry

When Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” in Matthew 9:14, He was talking about little ones like Lexi.

Wanting to help hungry children not much different than her, Lexi asked her dad to build a lemonade stand. Then, with a little creativity, some lemonade, and baked goods, she set off to raise support for Feed The Hungry.

You won’t believe what happened next…

When Lexi’s home church told us of this amazing story it was days before our March 2016 trip to Uganda. We couldn’t resist telling our friends at King Solomon’s Academy in Kampala, Uganda.

They printed some posters and helped us send a very personal message back to Lexi.

The story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 is a great lesson for Christians today. The responsibility to feed the hungry is great, but don’t focus on what you need, Jesus says to focus on ‘what you have‘ (Mark 6:38).Take a moment and ask God “what can I do to feed the hungry?” Ask God “how can I turn my hobbies, interests and ordinary activities into opportunities to feed the hungry?”
