Dear Friend,
I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Pete Sumrall for two decades, witnessing firsthand his drive to see souls come to Jesus, and his great compassion for orphaned and vulnerable children.
When we first started working together at Feed The Hungry, the ministry didn’t feed children on an ongoing daily basis. Today there are over 110,000 kids who can “taste and see that the Lord is good”!
Pete left an amazing legacy that will be built upon, starting with the 2016 Feeding Challenge to reach 50,000 more children with food and the Gospel before Christmas 2016.
Children like 14-year-old Violet in Uganda. I know you will be encouraged by how her life has been transformed (see front page)… thanks to the support of friends like you.
And, as you’ll see on pages 3 and 4, God has used your gifts and prayers to help touch multitudes of needy children and their families in the Philippines, Malawi, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Nicaragua and Nepal, so they can know just how good a full life in Jesus feels.
Jesus said, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones… truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward” (Matthew 10:42 NIV).
Jesus values your gifts that help so many hungry kids eat a healthy meal today. And He knows how it feels to be a child in need… and on the run. Matthew 2:13–15 tells how Joseph and Mary had to get up in the night and run to Egypt to escape King Herod. They knew how it felt to be refugees.
So, thank you for caring about the little ones that Jesus cares about… all the needy families… and all the refugees.
I know you’ll be filled with joy as you see how Jesus is working through you so hungry people can be fed and find Him. That joy in itself is a great reward.
Because a full life feels good,
