In January 2006, FTH appealed to its partners and friends to help feed the people of Ethiopia. Because of their generous and immediate response, FTH was able to send 350,000 kilograms of food feeding 10,000 families with some of their most basic dietary needs. Each food pack was distributed with a Bible, Gospel material and a local pastor shared the Gospel message.
In conjunction with the massive food program, an evangelical crusade and pastors-training conference was conducted, fulfilling the threefold vision of Feed The Hungry:- to feed the hungry; encourage pastors; and reach the lost.

Original Appeal Letters
Launched in January 2006 after almost 6 months of preparation.
The Ethiopian Appeal was a single appeal in two letters:-
- January 9th Letter – Introductory letter by Peter Sumrall
- January 23rd Letter – Field Report Project Information
Project Ethiopia is only days away from launching. Already teams of volunteers are preparing food packs to feed more than 50,000 people over the next two weeks.
Food will be distributed through local churches in the Awasa region, 200km south of the main capital city, Addis Ababa.
Key focal point of the project will be the 3 night evangelical crusade from Wednesday 15th through to Friday 17th. We expect a nightly attendance of 100,000 people.
